About Meg
One of her intrinsic beliefs is that there is true value in something that is hand-crafted with care, exclusively for you. Invest in quality, and it will remain with you for many lifetimes.
"When I first opened my studio in 2018, I wanted to create a studio space where I felt comfortable making the type of jewellery that resonated with me, as well as sharing my knowledge and love of jewellery making with others. I wanted to provide a safe space to be creative, to meet new people, and learn age-old hand fabricating techniques. To make something with your own hands that becomes a treasured piece of jewellery; a meaningful, wearable piece of art, is something incredibly rewarding. Watching my students learn to create, ultimately reaching the point where they can be proud of their artistry is something I hold close to my heart. It is a pleasure to accompany my students on their creative journeys."
In her brand new studio, she aims to create a gallery space of her own where students can showcase their creations, as well as where her personal exclusive designs can shine.
Meg graduated in Jewellery Design and Manufacture from the Ruth Prowse School of Art in 1997. Following her graduation, she taught at her alma mater, as well as in her own private studio.
She then branched out into mass manufacturing, where she honed her skills and attention to detail, and then into exclusive designer jewellery, giving her a varied background in creating and designing unique, eclectic pieces. Her newly-opened, spacious, light-filled studio is a wonderful space to explore your creative spirit, and set some things on fire.
She loves to explore new techniques, and is constantly striving for exciting ways to express herself through jewellery. Her style is a combination of chic and bohemian, juxtaposing soft natural shapes with interesting textures and unusual gemstones, which she sources herself in India to bring back just for you!
Class Information:

If you are just a beginner with no previous creative experience or have dabbled in jewellery before, Constellation Jewellery Studio will get you started.

In class you will learn various techniques needed to build a broad foundation for the art of silversmithing; soldering, sawing, filing, bending, sanding, polishing and basic stone setting, to name but a few.

With these skills you can design and create almost any jewellery project imaginable, and we encourage you to bring your own designs to class.

The studio in the South Peninsula is equipped with everything you will need.

Classes are small (6 max), to ensure everyone gets the assistance they need, according to their level. The studio has panoramic views of both oceans, and the surrounding mountains.

We would like to welcome you to your own studio bench, where you will be assisted in the creation of a unique item of handcrafted jewellery.

Class Fees Classes are booked on a monthly basis, payable in advance to confirm your place.
Class times:
Morning Classes:
Tuesday or Thursday: 9am – 12pm
Evening Classes:
Tuesday or Wednesday: 5pm – 8pm
Fees:
R500 per class
Fees are payable a month in advance and consumable materials are then over and above the class fees.
Book an experience with a small group of family, friends or colleagues, or even a special someone. Or perhaps a wedding ring workshop, where you can design and manufacture a ring from a selection of styles and finishes that will align with your tastes and desires.
